MegaDice

One of the oldest Bitcoin gambling sites now has a new name and upcoming new features, but the same steadfast dice game that started it all.

Overview

MegaDice is a name that’s only one month old, having appeared in March 2017 but its origins lie with possibly the most famous amongst bitcoin gambling sites: SatoshiDice. It first gained fame in 2012, when reported in Forbes as accounting for about half of all Bitcoin transactions at the time.

Bought over by new management in 2013, it has now shed its original name, done away with its blockchain game and focused on its strengths as a Bitcoin Dice game, while providing slot games exclusively for Quickspin.

Greeting you on the quick-loading front page is the main dice game itself, in all its simplicity and straightforwardness. There’s a top menu with Deposit, Cashout, Bet on the House, Refer-a-Friend and Settings options, so everything you need is within reach.

The site’s pages do hint at other developments such as a leaderboard and a leveling system so those are good signs that one of the oldest Bitcoin gambling sites continues to develop.

Investment

With at least 0.001 BTC, you can choose Bet On The House to participate in MegaDice’s bankroll as an investor and you’ll see a live update of total house profit, its current bankroll, your investment (marked as Your Current Bet”), profits accrued and your percentage of the total bankroll.

MegaDice splits profits and losses down the middle, which means investors take 50% of total house profits and losses. There’s a more detailed explanation on how profits are calculated by type of game, followed by a very open assessment of the risk to backers.

The house Cold Storage wallet is verifiable and there is a public thread on bitcointalk forum for investors, although there is no specific information on liabilities.

Deposits and Withdrawals

MegaDice is a Bitcoin-only site with one of the most flexible deposit and withdrawal requirements. This information is not clearly stated in terms and conditions, but was readily supplied by Live Customer Support when requested.

There is no minimum deposit – so you could theoretically test the site with small amounts, while withdrawals will incur a modest fee of 0.0001 BTC or 10,000 satoshi. Deposits will require 1 confirmation before you can play.

Games

The main dice game with its famous 0.9% house edge maintains much of the likeness of the very first original version, while also laying claim to being the first to introduce the Provably Fair concept. Bets can be manually adjusted on either Win Chance or Payout, with a convenient slider to adjust win chance. Each bet can also be SHA256 Hash verified to be provably fair all within the dice game.

The dice has a massive highest payout rate we’ve seen at x64,946.2 although maximum payouts is capped at 0.5% of total bankroll. At time of writing, this equates to just over 25 BTC.

As mentioned, in addition to its own Satoshi Slot (House Edge 3.5%) , MegaDice exclusively hosts slot games from Quickspin with 24 titles such as Leprechaun Hills (3.51% house edge), Hot Sync (3.71% house edge), Phoenix Sun (3.92% house edge), Dragon Shrine (3.45% house edge) and Gold Lab (3.91% house edge).

Bonuses

There are no fixed bonuses or promotions at MegaDice, although it does feature a free faucet that lets you claim 200 satoshi every 60 seconds if your balance is below 100 satoshi. At time of writing, however, Customer Support confirmed that the faucet was temporarily disabled until email verification is implemented.
